White Point Beach Resort - Fire Engulfs Main Lodge - Video
White Point, NS – November 13, 2011 - White Point Beach Resort, a popular tourist destination in Nova Scotia was engulfed in flames Saturday afternoon. There were no injuries but the main lodge appears to be a total loss.
The resort was scheduled to undergo major renovations beginning in January. There has been numerous video postings on Youtube. This one provides close up shots from the beach itself.
On his Twitter postings, J. S. Cunningham, the Fire Chief of Halifax Fire and Emergency Station 65 said “Fire at White Point Resort brings firefighters from Mahone Bay to Sable River. Excellent use of mutual aid. Everyone at White Point is safe. Firefighters are doing an awesome job, however Main Lodge is lost.”
Tammi Hayne, a photographer who lives in Eastern Passage, also commenting on Twitter said “White Point's Main Lodge housed kitchen/dining room/lounge/pool/conference center/front desk/guest rooms" She added “I used to work the front desk & night audit at White Point.
