Family Helps Seriously Injured Man Win Guitar from Jimmy Rankin

Mabou, NS – January 1, 2012 – Colleen Ingraham of Cheticamp, Nova Scotia has won an autographed Epiphone guitar from Jimmy Rankin and the prize will go to Robin Varner who was seriously injured in a car accident recently. Family members pulled together to ensure he had enough votes on Jimmy’s Facebook Fan Page to win the prize.
Jimmy made the announcement on Facebook today. He was really pleased with the huge response to the contest that has been running for a few weeks now.
“You guys rock! The response to the Epiphone guitar contest was fantastic - so many great comments - wow! Congratulations to Colleen Ingraham on winning the contest! It was neck and neck right down to the wire. Kelly - if you can hang tight, I'm going to get a signed guitar to you for your nephew. Happy New Year to all and here's to your dreams becoming reality in 2012! Cheers... – Jimmy.”
Robin suffered a broken back in the accident and has a long recovery ahead of him. His family says he loves to play guitar. He is Kelly Yeats nephew who helped generate a lot of family support for to help Robin win the guitar.
Jimmy was touched by the story, at one point commenting “it's so great to read all of your comments. Brings me back to the days when I didn't have a guitar of my own and used to 'borrow' Cookie's acoustic to take to parties. Your enthusiasm is truly heartwarming.”
