The Great Canadian Goat Run on PEI November 12. No Kid-ing!

Brackley Beach, PE – November 1, 2011 – The gift of a goat can have an enormous impact on a family living in poverty in the developing world. The poorest of the poor have nothing and a goat can be life changing. That’s what brought about the Great Canadian Goat Run being held for the second year at Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island.
The idea originated with the Great Canadian Soap Company where they use goats milk to produce soap. Every $58.00 raised will provide enough for Oxfam Unwrapped and support Oxfam’s livelihoods programs. We reached Janet Norman Bain to discuss the project and why so many people enjoy it. You can listen to the interview on the Soundcloud file below.

Oxfam Canada works in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia and the America. The Great Canadian Soap Company are committing to fundraising for the “Give the Gift of Goats” Fund from this year’s Great Canadian Goat Run through until next year’s “3rd Annual Great Canadian Goat Run.”
The 5K and 10K courses remain the same. They’ll have some good food and some great door prizes after the Run and unique medals for top finishers. Registration is $15.00 or $30.00 for a family. There is a $5.00 discount on registration with a donation of food to the food bank.
