Music New Brunswick hands out 27 Awards

Moncton – October 16, 2011 – Music New Brunswick handed out 27 awards Sunday night in Moncton in only its’ second annual music awards program.

George Belliveau (above) led the number of wins with 6 for his album “Whisky amer.” His awards included Male Recording Artist of the year, Francphone Country Recording of the year, and SOCAN Francophone Recording Artist of the Year.

The BackYard Devils have quickly established themselves as a group to watch in the future. They started the awards program off by winning Emerging Artist and went on to pick up a total of 3 awards for their debut album, “The BackYard Devils.” They also won for the Anglophone Country Recording and Group of the Year.
Phil Flowers was another multiple award winner for his album “People People.” Flowers picked up awards for Male Recording Artist, Anglophone Recording. This was his first full length album.
