George Canyon Headlines Valleyfest at Hants County Exhibition Grounds

Windsor, NS, - March 27, 2012 - George Canyon headlines this year’s Valleyfest at the Hants County Exhibition grounds on Saturday, August 4th.
Organizers have come up with a great line up including The Matt Minglewood Band, John Gracie, The Good Feelin’ Band, Margie Brown Duo, and Buckshot Crow. More acts and a special guest MC will be announced soon.
George Canyon has sold over 250,000 albums winning multiple industry awards along the way. His 2004 appearance on the U.S.A Network’s "Nashville Star" really kicked things off. He won Canadian Country Music’s Rising Star Award and Music Nova Scotia New Artist recording in the same year. He won his first Juno Award in 2005. He has a new album coming out this fall.
He's a dedicated husband and a proud father of two and a man of Faith. His integrity and dedication to his family lives as a theme through the songs he writes and the stories he tells with his music and the way he lives his life. It is also the same force that drives him to inspire youth through his role as a national spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
On February 21, 2008 he was recognized for all his philanthropic work in support of the Canadian troops and was appointed Honorary Colonel for the Canadian Air Force at 14 Wing Greenwood in Nova Scotia.
