Newfoundland’s “The Once” sit down with East Coast Kitchen Party
Ottawa, ON - September 12, 2012 - The Once, are easily described as a super group of musicians and people. We had the great pleasure of sitting down with Geraldine Hollett, Phil Churchill and Andrew Dale at the Ottawa Folk Festival.
Our extended conversation deals with their recent success as JUNO Award nominees, their appearance recently at the first "Gathering" Festival hosted by Shaun Majumder in Burlington, Newfoundland and the kind words they had for Ron Hynes. It was great to meet them and we hope you'll enjoy the conversation. Grab a cup of coffee though. We like to gab.
A large number of fans withstood torrential rains to watch The Once at this year’s Ottawa Folk Festival. They were not disappointed as mothers swayed to the music while clutching small children, men smiled and everyone in attendance who wasn’t from Newfoundland, wish there were. With music like Jack the Sailor below, it’s no wonder.
Geraldine, Phil and Andrew spent a long time providing autographs to fans following their show. It was great to meet all of them and we thank them for their time…..until next time.
