Spinney Brothers Nominated for Seven International Bluegrass Music Awards

 

 

 

 

 

Nashville, Tenn, July 19, 2012 – The Spinney Brothers have been nominated for seven International Bluegrass Music Awards. The nominations were announced in Nashville this week. It’s a huge boost in the U.S. market. They recently signed a recording contract with Mountain Fever Records and followed with the release of Memories.

 

Here’s the list on nominations they are up for.

 

Entertainer of the Year Vocal Group of the Year Song of the Year - "Memories" (written by Marshall Warwick) Album of the Year - Memories Gospel Recorded Performance - "Old Roman Soldier" Emerging Artist of the Year Male Vocalist - Allan Spinney

 

The 22nd annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, are scheduled for Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Nashville, Tennessee’s historic Ryman Auditorium. Also announced at the press conference were this year’s inductees to the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame - bluegrass ambassador and leader of one of the most awarded bands in the history of IBMA, Del McCoury and pioneering bass player and guitar stylist George Shuffler – and the five recipients of the Distinguished Achievement Award: Greg Cahill, Bill Knowlton, Lilly Pavlak, Geoff Stelling and Roland White.

 

The CD reached #1 on this month's Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 10 CDs chart and also made its debut on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 15 Albums chart at #9. The first single, and title track from the project, has had a significant presence on multiple charts spending four months on the Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 30 Hot Singles chart while currently holding down the #2 spot and also climbing to #24 on this month's Bluegrass Unlimited Top 30 Songs chart. The Spinney Brothers have been busy traveling internationally in support of Memories and have performed over 110 shows in Canada and the U.S. this year.
