Sherry Ryan Releases Her Third CD "Sister of Mine"

December 23, 2011 - St. John’s, NL – Sherry Ryan has released her third album. Sister of Mine was produced by Phil Sedore. Ryan hired him to produce the album and play an impressive array of instruments, including the Wurlitzer piano, gospel organ, clarinet, and cello, among others. Says Ryan of her latest record, “I love how Phil Sedore made the record sound like the songs that were on AM radio when I was a kid in the seventies.” The album also presents her debut piano recordings. We spoke to her about the album and her plans to tour. You can listen to her on our Soundcloud file below.

Sister of Mine was officially released during an appearance at the LSPU Hall in St. John’s on December 10, 2011. Phil Sedore, Bryan Power, John Clarke, Mark Bragg, Dave Rowe, Chris Donnelly, Natasha Hartery, Ilia Nicoll and Billy Nicoll all showed to perform with Sherry and Peter Willie Youngtree, Sandy May and Al Tuck performed at the show. Those years of listening to radio stations certainly pay off today in the sound Sherry can create. Blue Ridge Mountains, the song below, is an excellent demonstration of her skills at performing authentic country music.
