Mo Kenney Releases Debut CD September 25th

Halifax, NS – September 20, 2012 - You know there are high expectations of Halifax’s Mo Kenney when the people around her are excited to be working with her. There’s been considerable interest in her ability which grew when Joel Plaskett decided to record Mo at his New Scotland Records.
Pheromone recordings in Toronto signed Mo to an agreement this summer. She’s 22 and signs a record deal on her debut record. Mo seems to rack up accomplishments easily. Mind you, the sincere intensity in her music demonstrates obvious qualities. Of the ten songs, Deje Vu stood out as one of the many gems on the album. Anyone would be thrilled to have Joel Plaskett help out with background vocals.
Joel Plasket and Mo Kenney co-wrote two songs on the album, “Scene of the Crime” and “Déjà vu” described in promotional writings as a “positive break-up song.”
Mo is booked solid for the remainder of this year. She will open for Joel Plaskett in a number of shows in Western Canada and the Maritimes. She continues to perform at venues that others could only wish for. Mo has already performed at the Stan Rogers Festival, NXNE, Evolve and other notable festivals and venues. You can expect to see her at many of the finer theatre venues in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in November and December.
