Matt Andersen Scheduled for Festivals Across Canada

Toronto, ON – June 6, 2012 - Guitarist, singer, songwriter Matt Andersen is preparing for a busy summer festival season — he'll participate in no less than 16 jazz, folk, blues and world music events in seven different Canadian provinces, as well as in Illinois and California.
Recently returned from his third major tour of Australia, the globe-trotting musician — now based in Nova Scotia and who usually performs some 160 dates a year — is looking forward to the summer. Apart from festivals in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, he'll share a bill at the Downtown Jazz Festival in Toronto with American singer Joan Osborne, and play concerts and workshops over three days at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, one of the largest folk events in the country.
Andersen leaves for five dates in France at the Festival le Chainon Manquonin in Laval, and to shows in the UK (The Half Moon in Putney, London and the Greys in Brighton) following his final summer festival in Prince Edward Island.
Meanwhile, following earlier tours in the UK — including an appearance last year at the Glastonbury Festival — Andersen has been nominated as Best Overseas Artist in the British Blues Awards; voting closes on July 31. The new video below was just released. It is worth a look. It was done in Australia where Matt was recently on tour. (http://britishbluesawards.com/#/vote/4550831539)
