Maestro Fresh Wes drops Black Tuxedo EP featuring The Trews & Classified

TORONTO - On September 18, 2012 award-winning Canadian hip hop pioneer Maestro Fresh Wes releases his new EP Black Tuxedo. Featuring five tracks, Black Tuxedo is a precursor to Maestro's upcoming album - his first in twelve years.

The full-length, titled Orchestrated Noise, is expected in early 2013 and marks the 25th Anniversary of Maestro's trailblazing career as the Godfather of Canadian hip hop.

The EP features collaborations with Classified and The Trews, with production from Vago, Rezza Brothers, Classified and Rich Kidd.

The title track "Black Tuxedo" is streaming now via Soundcloud.

At a recent Public Enemy show in Toronto, Chuck D pulled Maestro on stage, the crowd went wild as he delivered two verses from an upcoming album track "Black Trudeau (Rap Prime Minister)" mentioning Prime Minister Steven Harper and Toronto mayor Rob Ford.

Maestro Fresh Wes (Wes Williams) is a two-time Juno Award winner (12 nominations), four-time MuchMusic Video Award winner and a Gemini Award nominee. His 1989 album Symphony In Effect was the first rap album to go gold and platinum in Canada. Symphony In Effect received the first ever Juno Award for Rap Album of the Year when the category was created in 1991. Wes recently wrapped filming the second season of CBC's comedy Mr. D in Halifax, which he plays high school teacher Paul Dwyer. His motivational book Stick To Your Vision was recently nominated for the Ontario Library Association's White Pine Award.
