Jess Healy and Bits & Pieces

Halifax, NS - February 8, 2012 - Jess Healy is a talented singer-songwriter who recently returned to Halifax after living and working in the United States. She is releasing her debut CD and had a sound that that is just as pleasant as she is in an interview. Jess brought in some accomplished talent to help out with the recording and it shows. The music has won immediate praise from friends, colleagues and fans.

We caught up with Jess in Halifax where she was preparing for a full release of the CD and a more extensive tour schedule in the Maritimes to help promote it. You can listen to that interview on our Soundcloud file below.

About the recording sessions, Jess says “The whole project revolved around the concept that “it’s about the music.” Everyone understood and listened, and let the music build itself the way it was supposed to be. There were no egos involved and no bumps in the road… everything just happened.” Enjoy the title track from the album “Bits and Pieces” below and share it with your friends to have a listen.

Jess began performing as a solo artist at Dalhousie University. During that time she played shows around the East Coast, and co-hosted the acclaimed open mic at Alexander Keith’s Brewery. Upon graduation she pursued an opportunity to travel to Texas and work with the Houston Women’s Music Festival.

A year later, Healy returned home to Halifax to begin working on her album at Denmark Studios. Keep an eye out for her. She has an infectious positive attitude that’s nice to encounter.
