Jason Haywood releases “A Thousand Miles Since Yesterday” on Tuesday, July 31

Halifax, NS – July 17, 2012 – Jason Haywood has been working on his new album, “A Thousand Miles since Yesterday” for more than two years. He says “I believe these are the best songs I have ever written.”
Prior to striking out on his own, Haywood was a founding member of The Divorcees, and co-wrote the album You Ain’t Gettin’ My Country. In 2008, the album won the East Coast Music Award for Country Recording of the Year. You can hear those qualities in his music. “Lonesome Soul” is streaming below.
Jason notes his influences range from the Bakersfield sound to Sweetheart of the Rodeo-era Byrds. His songs cover topics such as the despair of a death row inmate to a man’s recollections of a love gone wrong while traversing the country by rail. Haywood's writing embraces a narrative style, laying bare a personal acquaintance with regret, loss, and old wounds.
