Dale Murray Releases Dream Mountain Dream March 27

Pugwash, NS, February 17. 2012 – Pugwash, Nova Scotia is a small Village that struggles to maintain a population of 5,000. In fact, maintaining Village status is even under review as Cumberland County studies “the Service Delivery and Financial Impact of the Dissolution of the Village of Pugwash.”

This quiet home of the annual Gathering of the Clans rests along the Northumberland Strait and it is here where Dale and his partner, Christina Martin have established a busy recording studio. Dale was recently nominated Nova Scotia Producer of The Year and is nominated for the 2012 East Coast Music Award for Audio Professional of the Year. On March 27th, he will release his sophomore studio album Dream Mountain Dream.

Dale Murray lists musical influences of artists such as George Harrison and Townes Van Zandt. His intelligent delivery on Dream Mountain Dream is all over the musical map. From his contemplative home he creates music that won’t just be enjoyed, but probably studied by others. Dale Murray spent spent seven years backing some of Canada’s greatest talents (Hayden, Joel Plaskett, Buck 65, Christina Martin, Matt Mays, Blue Rodeo) in the studio and on the road

He spent time as part of the critically acclaimed rock band Cuff the Duke. Joining them shortly after the release of their self-titled album. With Murray covering guitars, pedal steel, and backing vocals, Cuff the Duke recorded Sidelines of the City (2007), and Juno Nominated Way Down Here (2009) and Juno Nominated release Morning Comes (2011).

In August 2011 Murray left Cuff The Duke to focus on producing and recording projects. He continues to play a major role in developing the studio and live sound of his wife Christina Martin (Two Hearts, I Can Too, A House Concert). Murray has recorded East Coast artists such as Steven Bowers (Beothuk Words-2011)), The Express (2011), and Molly Thomason (Beauty Queen-2011).
