Andrew Hunter on Warhorses, his new CD - Audio Interview

Halifax - September 25, 2011 - East Coast Music Award & Music Nova Scotia Award Nominees Andrew Hunter & The Gatherers are back with their highly anticipated new album “Warhorses” The CD release was held at the Seahorse in Halifax and we spoke with Andrew just before that.

The first single, "One Good Reason" cracked Top 30 in Canada and their second single at radio now, "Run for Cover" cracked the top 100 in its first week!

Engineered and Produced by Darren Van Niekerk (Matt Mays, The Stanfields, K-OS) and recorded at Halifax’s Sonic Temple, this is the first offering since their 2009 debut, which featured the award winning hit, “Feel Good Song”. They have toured across Canada and since shared stages with The Trews, Hey Ocean!, Joel Plaskett, Matt Mays, Jimmy Rankin and many more.

Andrew’s single Run for Cover was selected for the 10 + 10 Program at this year’s Atlantic Film Festival. As part of the Music & Image Conference which features panels, workshops, one-on-one meetings, and showcasing opportunities, the 10 X 10 music video program offers ten Atlantic Canadian filmmakers and 10 Atlantic Canadian musicians, the chance to work together and create a music video. Once selected to participate in this program, artists and filmmakers of all levels learn the fundamentals of contemporary music video-making as well as development of pre-existing skills, from the evolution of the band’s visual concept to the final edit of the video.

The program is open to any Atlantic-Canadian filmmaker and any artists and bands who have released at least one professionally manufactured CD.
